How to Play Warhammer 40k for Beginners – Part 3 – Unit Types

By Editor

The beginning of a series of video to teach you, a beginner to the game of 40k, the basics required to play. The series will be a play through one complete game of 400pts. I explain every part of the rules that I use at least once or twice during the game.

lol I will start with orcs they seem fun to play maybe that the strogest but looking forward to play with the numbers

Whaaagggghhhh! Orks my choice. U go down to ur Choppas!

Yeah there are plenty of 3rd party products that are just as good if not better (quality and/or value wise). My mistake for using the term “best”, they’re the easiest to get if your just getting started with the hobby at a GW store. Grab models and paint, go and have fun.

youre lemon russ looks sick great job but youre space marines need some work check out jawaballs his channel helped alot great lemon russ though

You can’t be more wrong. They’re better paints out there, like vallejo and reapers, that’s actually cheaper. I’ve even used craft paint, which I bought from Walmart and Micheals, and produced a few great looking armies

@strangekid317 I just purchased assault on black reach, it is worth every penny. Definitely the choice for someone who doesn’t have the money to buy a full army to dedicate too.

Cool base man, you need to make a video on how to make one.

is a dreaghtnought walker?

You didnt mention the dreadnaught?

You usually have to buy your own paints (the ones that Games Workshop sell are typically the best to use for your miniatures). However they do sell some starter kits that will give you paints & miniatures.

You have to buy your own unfortunatley

@strangekid317 For the Greater Good!

When you buy a set of figurines, do they come with paints, or do you have to buy your own?

You really dont have to paint anything. But some tournaments give you points based on painting(which would include painting).

@strangekid317 I would play whatever army you love the look and feel of the most. Its fun to win, and Tau are not quite as good as Space Marines on average(though you can definitely still win!), but its way more fun playing the army you enjoy visually. That way you can visualize you guys shooting his to death a little easier. lol Plus Tau are up for a new codex in < a year. Hope this helps.

do you have to paint the all the vechicls?

i thought he did a okay job on the yellow/Red space marines

I’m actually starting to understand now. Thanks.

Hey I’ve been watching your videos and I have to say you have been a god send.. There is so much stuff that I didn’t know and you really simplified that! thanks alot!

meh 2!!!!!

yeah…i just bought my first 40k units…i got a tau battleforce and cant wait to play…they were annoying to put together though. lol.

So the chapters are different options of painting the space marians
or you can make your own sceam

YEP! No way around that, they look THE SAME.

They are indeed. Their guns are no joke.

Yeah, I havent focused much on painting in the past. So I am trying to just ignore my old models and paint the new ones when I get them. Can’t wait to show off some of my new Thousand Son Orks when I finish the squad.
