Canary Wharf workers benefit from their well placed office space every day. They are close to restaurants, shopping centres and pleasant cosmopolitan plazas but how often do employees stop and stare at the building they inhabit?

Three of the UKs tallest buildings can be found in Canary Wharf, which is a little known fact. We have cobbled together a list of the top seven biggest buildings in the area for your perusal so you can become the resident office expert on mighty edifices in the East of London.

One Canada Square is the tallest building in Canary Wharf since 1991. The glass fronted building boasts 50 floors and measures up at an impressive 771 feet.
Close by, the HSBC Headquarters at 8 Canada Square, is the 22nd tallest building in Europe and was designed by Norman Foster architects. It is made up of 4,900 glass panels and was officially opened in April 2003.
The CitiGroup centre building is at number three in the countdown and was created after two Canada Square buildings merged together.
One Churchill Place is the seventh tallest building in the UK and stands at 32 floors.
The 33-storey 40 Bank Street skyscraper is 153 metres high and is based in the Heron Quays area.
The multi tenanted 25 Bank Street site was built in 2003 and the top floor lights up in green at night.
Clifford Chance occupies the fifth tallest building in Canary Wharf, which stands at 151 metres tall.

You may have heard of the Canary Islands before as this historic group of islands has helped forge the exploration of the new world and beyond for centuries before modern travel was even conceived. Also the islands feature in many legends and are even thought to be the lost home of Atlantis. But if you have not been on holiday there yet, then you are in for a pleasant surprise.

Gran Canaria offers excellent beaches for the sun lovers and plenty of outdoor activities too, so never a dull moment unless you want to relax instead. Outdoor hiking types will enjoy exploring the Gran Canaria cliffs which are honeycombed with caves of varying sizes and if mountain climbing is your thing, the growth in the sport here will also grab your attention with an every increasing number of documented climbs.

The Canary Islands have a local population of just over two million inhabitants on about seven thousand kilometers of land. The climate is very mild with sub-tropical warm summer days and cooler winter days. The temperature ranges between about sixty-four and seventy-five degrees making tourists quite comfortable year round. Since the Canary Island economy is based on tourism, the great climate and natural beauty are very beneficial to its people. The island economy has grown continuously for about the last twenty years, mostly due to the huge amount of foreign investment required to build hotels and resorts.

The capital of the Canary Islands is located on the Gran Canaria. This island is perfect for all cruise destinations because it has so many different activities to offer, such as some of the best beaches around, festivals, sports, historical areas, and even a great night scene.

The Islands are a hotspot for European tourists with over eight million visitors coming in annually due to the excellent weather, beautiful topography, and great beaches. Over fifteen hundred kilometres of coastline means, there are numerous spots to enjoy including water sports, lazing on sandy beaches, and taking part in other recreational activities. There are also volcanoes, beautiful sceneries, and forests for nature lovers who want to do more than just spending time on the sand. For those looking for a cultural experience, the mix of Europe, Africa, and America has resulted in a melting pot culture which is further made more enjoyable by the amazing infrastructure available on the islands.

Along with Lanzarote and Gran Canaria, Tenerife is extremely well known and has a long tradition of accommodating tourists looking for precious winter sunshine. The popular resorts of Los Cristianso and Playa de Las Americas are both located in the south and have been hot spots for holiday property investors over the past 40 years. Both resorts are very well established and boast a wide range of services and facilities.

Booking on line is a good idea as most online travel tour operators have lower fixed costs, and usually offer better tour prices. As for me, I would prefer to rent a villa than a hotel when planning Cheap Holidays Canary Islands, and you may consider this option, especially if you are travelling as a group.
